🌸 The First Spark: Where It All Began
Back in 2014, I launched a small Etsy shop called theethnicjewels from my hometown, Jaipur, known for its rich craftsmanship and colorful culture. What made our shop different? We focused on something the global market had overlooked, nose jewelry. While necklaces and earrings flooded marketplaces, nostril piercing rings, nose studs, and nose hoops inspired by Indian heritage were nearly impossible to find—especially for buyers in the U.S.
At the time, nose stud piercing was beginning to rise in popularity across Western fashion circles, but traditional Indian designs weren’t part of the conversation. I wanted to change that by offering handcrafted nose rings and nose studs rooted in history and identity.

My education in this craft wasn’t formal. It was real, human, and close to home.
A Bengali friend who lived with our family and worked with nose piercing jewelry became my silent teacher. Each evening, after my regular job, I’d sit beside him and observe how he bent metal, set stones, and created timeless pieces.
